Inspired by Barney Stinson's "The Robin", "The Leann" was certainly no easy feat. It was elaborate, intricate, challenging, and required the wittiest of minds and the most solid teamwork.

The plan was to get my close friends to get her to organise a surprise birthday celebration disguised as a casual gathering. As part of the surprise, I will be targetted to sing on stage, which I do, with a meaningful song, and propose mid way through it; all of which will be captured by hidden cameramen.

Aside from coordinating with Switch and the band on the table bookings, arrangement, and song choice, I also had to get Androidsinboots to recce the area; arrange with my colleagues whom she did not know yet; and limit the sharing of this plan to only 2 friends such that everyone will behave normally and not give the game away. It was initially easy to organise, but almost turned against me as I struggled to answer my messages, ensuring that my booked tables had some colleagues there, and getting wired up for the recording without Leann knowing.

The plan almost fell through when she fell sick, but lucky for me, she loved her beer, and she wanted me to be surprised. Thankfully, despite some blunders (dumb waitress spilled beer on Tammy, and she had to go back and change), we pulled through, and the plan succeeded!  Kudos to Switch by Timbre, the Switch Gang, the audience (who endured my nervous singing), Androidsinboots (who edited away the bad parts), my EY colleagues, my dearest friends, and of course myself.. for this epic proposal on our 1600th day!
